Samantha's First Haircut

I finally agreed to get rid of Samantha's rat tail/mullet. My mom trimmed all of her hair and cut off all of the frizzies so now her hair looks much better. I kept a lock of her hair and put it in a bag. So sad.

Trying out my new camera

Sam got me a new camera for graduation so I decided to take some random pictures. We had this old kodak thing that took horrible pictures so I relied on my cell phone and bumming off people for pictures.

Here she is showing off her new dress that Ama T bought her.

I did it!

I can officially call myself a college graduate. It was a long, very long, tough road, but I made it! Thanks to everyone in my life for giving me the support and encouragement I needed to make it through these last couple of years. I definitely could not have done it without the help in taking care of Samantha. So, to everyone that took care of her when I had class, had to study, or just needed a break, I thank you.

I had a wonderful graduation party following the ceremony and friends and family came to visit. I was so happy to see everyone. My Aunt Melissa took some great pictures...as always :)

New Hair

I decided to get highlights. I was getting bored with my hair. I'm still not used to them.

Watercolors

Samantha wanted to paint today so I set her up in her highchair and she went to town. She just started saying "I love you" in a way that people can actually understand what she's saying. I ask her to say it over and over again because it's so cute.

Sam will be here next week every time we ask Sammy, "Who's coming to see you?" She says, "Dada." When we ask her how he'll get here she says "Airplane." It's sad that she associates him with airplanes..she hasn't been able to see him very much while I was finishing school, but that will all change because he'll be back here permanently later this month (I'm sure I've mentioned this in previous posts). I can't wait until we're back together as a family.

Oh and I should mention that I bought the 4th book in the Twilight series today and I can't wait to start reading it. I haven't been reading as much as I'd like because of school, but now that it's over I feel like I have all the time in the world. It's fantastic.

Potty Training

I bought Samantha the potty about a month ago and she's used it a total of three times. I'm just letting her get used to the idea. I don't want to force it on her. I thought it was hilarious the other day when she grabbed my dad's hat and decided to go sit on her potty. She thought it was funny too.

Sicky Pants

The title explains everything. Samantha has had some stomach problem for the past 5 days. Let's just say I'm changing about 15 diapers a day. I took her to the ER Monday night and I thought she had a UTI from the way she was acting and the fact that she had a 103 degree fever so they tortured her and catheterized her and lo and behold, no UTI...just sicky pants. So I was told to keep her hydrated and let it run its course. They didn't do any blood work and they just assume she had a virus...She had been sick since Saturday afternoon.

So I woke up this morning and she was still sick. I bought her some gatorade and pedialyte and she could not stop going to the bathroom. So at this point I'm really freaked out so I take her to a different hospital where I proceeded to wait for 3 hours. I eventaully left. The dumb triage nurse just used the forehead scanner thing to take her temp., so of course it didn't show a fever (those things do not work). I asked them to do it rectally and the nurse refused, so we were put on a low priority...That's why I left.

Sam is worried she has that dumb swine flu since there are seven confirmed cases here in El Paso. For now I'm just keeping her home and hydrated. All of this drama and finals are just beginning. Ugh. How will I ever get through this? Oh I forgot to mention now I'm sick. Wonderful.

This is her before the illness kicked in.

Trying to figure out how to put the gloves on.

She finally did it with some help.

i phone

Sam decided to get an i phone, so of course that meant that we had to switch cell companies...Verizon to ATT. The phone works for him because he's a big nerd and likes all the apps. He decided it would be a good idea to get me one too. I was soooo mad. I had this really nice phone from verizon that took awesome pictures and video and I could actually send them to people. Well now I have the crappy i phone and I can't picture message or take video. Also, the battery runs out in a day and my street is a dead zone so i never have reception. Sorry about this dumb post...I just had to vent my frustrations.
