Pictures I Love

She loves her brother.

Sometimes she squeezes him a little too tight.

Matt loves his baths

They are best friends.

Birthday

We had plans to have a BBQ by the pool for my birthday, but about 4pm, we had a huge thunder/ rain storm. It was awesome, but almost put a damper on the plans. It lasted for about half an hour, then it was beautiful outside and we headed to the pool.

Sammy and Matthew looking out of the window, mesmerized by the rain.
I'm so glad they are buddies :)

Overdue post of Matthew's Birthday

I promised pictures of brand-new Matthew, so here they are...just a little late. I wanted to post them in sequential order, but they ended up completely backwards.

He barely fit in the car seat.

Wonderful family photo, eh? Sammy was missing because hospital guidelines would not even allow her on the floor.

I Love Love Love this picture :)

Albuquerque Trip

For 4th of July we decided to take an impromtu trip to Albuquerque. It was about a 5hr car ride and it actually wasn't that bad of a drive. Billy, Kassandra, Matt, and I rode in Billy's car and my mom, dad, and Samantha rode in my dad's truck. We stayed at Kirtland AFB and it was a terrible hotel. We went to the Albuquerque Zoo on Saturday the 3rd and that night, the town nearby, Rio Rancho put on a pretty awesome fireworks show. We came back home on the 4th.

I will post some pictures from Matt's arrival soon. I know it's a little backwards, oh well.

Matthew Michael Warren

He's here!! (I'll post pictures soon...I barely got up the energy to write this)

Matthew was born on 4-23-2010. 6lbs. 10 oz. (a peanut)
Going in for the c section was the most traumatic experience of my life...I nearly passed out while the nurse put the IV in...she blew my vein twice and had to move to the other arm while someone else was on that same arm drawing labs.
Thank God it was time for shift change for the anesthesiologist...The lady leaving the shift did not believe in anti-anxiety meds until the baby was out. Really? It's over by then...that's why they are called "anti-anxiety" So I got a gooood anesthesiologist (sp is horrible) and he gave me good stuff...so much so that I don't remember much. I remember seeing the baby over the curtain and that's about it, but that's all I need to remember.

So after a 3 day stay in the hospital we are home :) Matthew had to stay for a few hours after I was discharged to get some tests ran because he had an episode of his lips turning blue for a little bit...he's okay though :) tests came back fine.

I think God has really blessed me with this one. He has been such a good, content baby. He sleeps a lot and he wakes every 4 hrs. on the dot to eat at night. I guess his name (which we chose at the last minute) suits him well. Matthew - gift from God.

I promise to post pictures later :)

37 weeks

I made it to full term!!! The dr. gave me a date for the c section...April 23. I'm really excited, but very nervous at the same time. Sam and I have been having a very hard time deciding on a name, so Sam has taken the reigns on this one. He said I got to name Samantha so he's going to name the boy. The only two names he will consider are Noah Michael and Logan Michael....he's leaning more towards Noah. I don't really have an opinion either way...I haven't felt very connected to any of the names, so if Sam really likes Noah, then that's what we'll go with. One name I have really liked is Weston Michael. It's a variation of his brother's name, but I think Weston Warren has a cute ring to it. Wow, now that I've written it out, it kinda reminds me of cigarettes...Winstons. So, maybe we won't go with that. I guess we'll know his name when we see him, at least that is what everyone is telling me.

Now, off to organize and get some groceries. I want to look up new recipes and try one out tonight. I'm getting so sick of the same stuff every week. Of course, if it were completely up to me, we would just order pizza.

35 weeks...almost

I had a dr's appointment on Monday and he said we can start talking about scheduling a date for the c section! So next Monday we should have a birth date. Yay for the baby finally being here, but not yay for the c section :( I asked if he could deliver the baby at 37 weeks, but he said 38 weeks was better. So I have 3 more weeks and I swear this kid is doubling in size every day.

I still haven't decided on a name...I guess I need to get on top of that.

Fish update: we had to flush Dorothy :( He was floating at the top of the tank for a few days. Samantha didn't seem too torn up by it, and I promptly cleaned and sanitized the tank and put it away. I did research on the internet and determined that the fish had parasites called anchor worms. They said you could lay the fish on a damp towel and use tweezers to pull off the worms....barf! Plus, they needed antibiotics. Once they get infected with these worms, they develop a condition called dropsy and they cannot swim down any more. After all the drama we decided - No more fish for us! I think a dog is easier to take care of. On a related note: Samantha got a balloon the other night from a restuaraunt and it deflated the next day. I made the mistake of telling her the balloon died and she looked up at me and said: "Please don't flush it down the toilet" I almost cried laughing because she was so serious.
