One Year Old pictures....finally

So here are her one year old pictures. They took them at her school/daycare and I thought they turned out really good, so I'm using them as her one year old pictures.

This picture is of Sam's grandpa, Sam Callan. I'm not sure how old he was here, but cover up the hair and Smantha looks just like him. He has since passed, but he used to be a quarter back for UT Austin. He was a very tall man. If Samantha truly does take after him, I'm going to have a pee wee football player on my hands...or basketball...or volleyball. Or she just might be girly like me and want to do dance, maybe ballet ? :)

She can feed herself...sort of :)

I was feeding Samantha Ramen (I know, that stuff is terrible for you). She decided to grab the fork and feed herself. She did make a mess, but also got a lot in her mouth. Now everytime I try to feed her she grabs thte spoon and wants to do it herself. She ate a whole bowl of macaroni and cheese yesterday and she did it all by herself. She wants to be so independent these days...it's sad.

it's been a while...

It's been a really long time since I've posted anything...sorry. I've been sooo busy lately. I started school and my student teaching (7th grade English) and I've also been searching for a really good daycare for Samantha. I'm lucky that Sam's mom watches her mon and fri and my mom watches her in the evening when I have school. Mimi also takes of her during the week instead of taking her to daycare. It's been so hard for her to adjust. So anyway, here are just a few, random pictures from the last month.

Here are a few pictures from her first birthday.

This is her outside. She loves to play in the sprinklers.

Here we are reading a book at Mimi's house. She loves books.

More Walking!!

Here is some more video of her walking. This was taken today. She's been everywhere. The only problem I'having is that Samantha doesn't really wear shoes because (1) her feet are too wide and puffy so I have to buy special shoes (2) she hates them. So when we're out and about she doesn't get to walk because I don't want her feet to get dirty and because she can't walk in her tennis shoes. She acts like her feet are glued to the ground when I put them on her.

She has seen this video of herself several times and she gets so excited and starts to hyperventilate. She's nuts. She has also been using a raspy voice lately that resembles the guy's voice from The Godfather. (not portrayed in this video).

Boo Boo

This happened about a month ago, but I'm waaaay behind on the blog. I was sitting out front with Samantha and I turned around for a second and she fell of the curb and into a parking spot. I felt like such a bad mom :( She cried a lot at first, but then she was ok. It's been a few weeks and she's completley healed up. It's her first boo boo.

I know this post is horribly disorganized...sorry. This actually happened today. I had some friends over last night for my birthday and they brought over cupcakes. Sam thought it would be hilarious to feed her a very messy chocolate one. She didn't really like it that much. I don't think she's real keen on sweets.

Duck Pond

Playing on the slide. She couldn't really go down it that smooth because she was wearing shorts and her legs kept sticking to the slide.

Samantha and Sam hanging out.

I really love this picture. I keep trying to put Samantha in tennis shoes so she can get used to walking in them but she hates them. She just picks at the shoe laces and acts goofy when she walks. I guess I'm going to just have to get used to my bare foot hippie baby.

Samantha has no idea what to think about the ugly bird.

Samantha you better feed them some bread before they eat you!

Sam showing Samantha how to feed them.

I don't think Samantha is all that impressed.

Fun Stuff

Samantha decided it would be really fun to surf on her ride-on toy. She's getting too brave for her own good these days.

I guess this can be added as one more of Dada's crazy ideas. He's always trying to make her look goofy. Notice here dirty face too. I made pasta for dinner (with spaghetti sauce) and I made her bowl and set it aside so it could cool off. I went to go make my plate and when I came back she had already dug into hers and ate half of it and the other half was smeared all over her face.
